Aqua Therapy Classes

Aqua Therapy Classes

This class will be a blended class of strength and cardiovascular activities, dependent on abilities.  Limited spots per class.

Cost:  $124 for SIX classes.

Bookings:  Ring the Clinic on 6247 0733.

Payment:  Can be made over the phone via credit card or in person at the Casey Clinic, Canberra City Health Network, 15 Kingsland Parade, Casey Market Town.

Medical Forms: Each participant will be required to fill out a one off new patient form indicating their medical history.  (Forms circulated with the email 2nd January, 2019.)  In addition, you will need to sign a consent form (will be with Gemma on Wednesday and Friday).

Rescheduling and missed classes:  We understand you may need to attend other appointments or may fall unwell.  We ask that you call ahead to reschedule.  This opens up an opportunity for another person to attend the class.  This also ensures you will be able to utilize all 6 sessions you have paid for.  Non attendance and failure to reschedule will forfeit a class.

 

Dance Delights

Come and try some Zumba with the Dance Delights ladies on Wednesday and Saturday at 10am.

More advanced Zumba between 10am and 10.30am.
Beginners (Walk a Mile) between 10.30am and 11am.

This is a very easy going group, so give it a try and only do what you feel you can.

Some of us like to be doing something with our hands while we sit, so feel free to bring whatever you are currently working on, stitching, knitting, crochet or some colouring in.

Join us and meet folks with similar crafty interests or just come for a catch up with neighbours.  All are welcome.

Speedy Gonzales Walking Group

The Speedy Gonzales Heart Foundation Walking Group  walks longer distances.

This group is aiming to walk for at least 45 minutes, taking various routes of around 3-4 km.  Walking at your own pace.  Please remember to bring water.

If you would like to join these folks, please meet in front of the Clubhouse at 7.30am on Thursday mornings.

Don’t forget to register with Heart Foundation Walking (forms are available in the Clubhouse.)

Physio Mobility Group Class

Maintaining independent function is critical in preserving our health and well-being as we age.  The capacity to perform basic physical functions is a central aspect of health-related quality of life.  Research has proven that participation in regular activity that incorporates balance, strength, cardiovascular fitness and flexibility, will reduce the risk of falls, improve quality of life, assist in maintaining independence and reduce the impact of age related health risk and disease.

Join Kristen Steele on Monday and Thursday mornings for a 40 minute circuit training class with a 10 minute session on education on a physiotherapy related topic at the end of the circuit.

The Mobility Class is scheduled to run for 10 weeks.  An up-front payment of $100 for 1 session per week or $200 for 2 sessions per week is required prior to the beginning of the first session.  Members of a health insurance provider are eligible to claim at the end of the designated term under Physiotherapy.
